A little further, about 2 miles, are the Rollright Stones, megalithic monuments consisting of three sites rich in folk-lore. Whether touring on foot, cycle, horseback or by car you will find many more hidden treasures off the beaten track.
Within five miles are the local towns of Moreton-in-Marsh, Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Norton all have a variety of interesting shops, markets, pubs, restaurants, antique and art galleries.
Broadway with it's 18th Century tower; a Gothic folly giving one of the outstanding viewpoints in England.
Pretty Bourton-on-the-Water with the river Windrush flowing down the main street under the low bridges, and many other villages are all within a short drive.
Within an hours drive you are in the historic cities of Gloucester, Worcester, Oxford, the Regency splendour of Cheltenham or not forgetting Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon.
London and Oxford are also accessible to you by train from Moreton-in-Marsh station.
